The Duchess and Castle - 26th March 2022
First up 6233 "Duchess of Sutherland" working "The Mancunian" from London Euston to Manchester Piccadilly seen steaming past Althorp on the Northampton loop. Then 7029 "Clun Castle" is seen working away from the junction at Stenson with "The Chester Venturer" from Tyseley. The Castle is then seen again at speed near Lichfield 26/03/22

61306 "Mayflower" was rostered to work a Steam Dreams excursion from London to Stratford-Upon-Avon. The B1 is first seen at Great Bourton heading away from a stop at Banbury. Prior to Christmas Saphos Trains ran two trips with 34046 "Braunton". On Thursday 17th December the Bulleid worked the "Pennine Moors Christmas Explorer" circular trip from Birmingham to Blackburn. Very nice. I wish I could travel on one of these rides on trains. Unfortunately my country cannot afford this. Our usual trains are over crowded. Getting into one of them is a nightmare. Fortunately I am retired. Thanks for the video
What was the weight of this load? Was this an exercise/test for the loco or an actual revenue earning train? Cheers
I'm not sure the load was. No it was just a demonstration freight. The wagons are normally used for revenue freight but with a more modern loco

The blue one looks great. Not so keen about the maroon one though. They sound great pulling away from Henley in Arden
I think the LT Maroon one looks great honestly, especially paired with the LT 4-TC and the other LT 20.

Hi my name is Phil I have driven both of these in my time on the footplate 50yrs 8yrs on steam i started at edgeley shed in 1961 I have driven a number of these locomotive I finished my time out at longsight as in 2011 Regards Phil.

I’m pleased you filmed from the car park Matt as I’d forgotten what this shot was like, also as I was down the far end of the platform from you on your second shot I was amazed how load the horn was to what I heard. Great video of this railtour Matt.
Cheers Mike, didn't spot you on the platform. The car park was usual trainspotting location with the parents when I was younger.
Nice one Matt, I seam to recognise that first location, (I was there on Wednesday) I was lucky with my 1Z45 shot getting it in-between the two southbound Pendos.
Cheers Mike, yeah I was unlucky but could have been worse. Kilby Bridge isn't a bad spot, I went there in September on a nicer day to get a few HST photos.
Must be one of the last ever times an 87 worked a revenue earning service?
